 Our Work

The Carlin Foundation has chosen to focus its philanthropy on supporting innovation and education in healthcare, particularly in the areas of public and  global health. 

 

We are pleased to sponsor the Carlin Foundation Annual Lecture on Healthcare Innovation at Thomas Jefferson University and the Carlin Foundation Pilot Award for Public Health Innovation at the Boston University School of Public Health.

10/23 The Carlin Foundation Annual Lecture on Healthcare Innovation at Thomas Jefferson University featured Dr. Nita A. Farahany, the Robinson O. Everett Distinguished Professor of Law & Philosophy and Founding Director of the Duke Initiative for Science & Society. She is a widely published scholar on the ethics of emerging technologies, including the book The Battle for Your Brain: Defending Your Right to Think Freely in the Age of Neurotechnology.    She spoke on "Your Right to Mental Privacy in the Age of Brain-sensing Tech".  Wednesday, November 8 at Jefferson. 

3/23:  Carlin is delighted to announce that The 2023 Carlin Foundation Pilot Award for Public Health Innovation was awarded this year to Boston University School of Public Health researcher Meredith Brooks, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor in the department of Global Health, BUSPH.  Dr. Brook’s research, entitled “Adaptive Design to Aid in the Planning of community-based Tuberculosis screening services (ADAPT-TB) focuses on improving the detection of individuals with tuberculosis through community-based screening programs in Lima Peru. 
Dr. Brook’s research was selected by BUSPH faculty from several internal submissions.
